Wiki Guidelines and Components

Set up the Classroom Factors page with a title and graphic. Identify key issues that must be considered by regular education classroom teachers who typically work with second language learners during the regular school day.

Consider issues related to ESL populations enrolled in your particular school as well as general factors to consider. Add an overview to your Wiki page describing the factors and content of the page.

Design a one-page informational handout that may be distributed to regular education teachers, ESL teachers, or parents. Include at least two online resources.




Designing the Handout:

Design an attractive, organized, one-page informational handout for regular education classroom teachers.
Include:


  • A heading, title, and contact information (your name, school, email)
  • A brief overview of languages and cultures represented in your school or system.
  • Concise list of the factors present that may impact second language learning.


Resources for Regular Education Teachers:

Include at least two resources for teachers. These may be web resources, information regarding learning styles, learning styles inventories, etc.
